Accessioning and Condition Assessment of Art objects like textiles, wooden furniture, ceramic objects, glass objects , metal objects, books and manuscripts of Maulana Azad Museum, Kolkata, a part of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies were completed.
Netaji Museum, Netaji Research Bureau, Kolkata
A Paper Conservation Laboratory was set up by INTACH Art Conservation Centre, Kolkata, inside the premises of Netaji Museum, Kolkata last. A Paper Conservation Project (1st Phase) continued from September, 2012 to February, 2013 in that laboratory. Letters and personal diaries of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and other members of his family and other important official and personal documents relating to Netaji and his family members, friends, and different personalities involved in the Indian Freedom Movement were restored here.Besides this, 6 of oil paintings were also restored in INTACH’s Art Conservation Centre.
Acharya Bhavan, Kolkata
The residential house of Sir J.C.Bose, the father of Modern Physics, is going to be converted into Science Heritage Museum and INTACH Calcutta Regional Chapter has undertaken this work. The conservation work of the objects relating to Sir J.C.Bose and his family members has been taken up by INTACH Art Conservation Centre, Kolkata. 21 Paintings including 4 oil Paintings, 16 paper paintings, 2 cloth paintings, 3 manuscripts, 2 photographs have been already restored. Different types of paintings and books, most of which were gifted by renowned personalities of those era like Abanindranath Tagore, Gaganendranath Tagore, Nicolas Roerich, George Bernard Shaw, Romain Rolland were restored by INTACH Conservation Institute, Kolkata. 11 volume set of plays of Bernard Shaw, gifted by him to Sir J.C.Bose also restored.
A poem inside a painting, painted and written by Sri Rabindranath Tagore and gifted by him in the wedding ceremony of Sri D.N.Bose , the nephew of Sir J.C.Bose and Smt. Nalini Bose, daughter of Dr. Nilratan Sarkar.A beautiful paper painting entitled “NATIR PUJA” painted by famous painter Sri Nandalal Bose has been restored by us.
St. John’s Church Art Collection
Nine of oil paintings, 3 of litho prints, 2 of paper paintings, 22 of black & white photographs of The St. John’s Church were restored in between August 2012 to April 2013.
The Royal Calcutta Turf Club
An oil on canvas, a print on canvas, 5 of litho print and 7 of black & white photographs were restored in between August 2012 to November 2012.
