3.1 Paintings

Conservators team is skilled in treatments of different kinds of paintings ranging from surface cleaning to paint layer stabilization to the complete restoration of damaged artworks, including tempera, traditional and modern oil-based paint, acrylics and water-based painting, panel and fabric supports, South Indian traditional Thanjore and Mysore paintings, wall murals and stuccos, paintings on glass, the diverse challenges of contemporary artworks etc.

The work includes cleaning of accumulations, repairs of tears, cracks and holes, consolidation of lifted pigment and other elements on the surface, strengthening of canvas, reintegration of lost parts, and re-stretching of canvases etc.
