About ICI Kolkata
INTACH Art Conservation Centre, Calcutta was established under the able guidance of the then Director General of ICCI, Dr. O.P.Agrawal in 2005.
The centre met a crying need for restoration services especially for owners of art objects in the private domain. The Centre has got facilities to conserve all types of heritage objects like manuscripts, paintings, lithographs, photographs, textiles, murals, ethnological objects, animal skins, stone, metal etc.
The first project taken up was the restoration of the art collection of the very prestigious Calcutta Club, Kolkata. The collection consisted of Oil Paintings, Lithographs,Paper Paintings, Photographs and Prints on Paper. A conservation laboratory was set up in the club premises itself where the work could be conveniently attended to. The project was completed in record time and was greatly appreciated by the members of the club.
